Leah has been a lifelong animal lover! She was the proud mother of Sadie and Chance, both labradors that were as rambunctious as they were lovable. Currently, Leah and her boyfriend enjoy the companionship of JJ, their sweet Border Collie mix. Leah has volunteer for years with Safe Hands Rescue after she was inspired when adopting Chance from the rescue. Prior to joining the team, Leah also spent years helping her friends in need of dog sitting or walking.
A proud “labrador girl” through and through, they have been Leah’s favorite breed since her childhood when her family had a lab, Ben. Their love, joie de vivre and heartiness for our Minnesota winters make them the perfect companions for North Shore hiking, skiing and camping. Leah particularly loves the joy she gets from walking into a house and seeing a dog that is ecstatic about her arrival, stating that the first few minutes in particular really warm her heart.
Outside of work, Leah and her boyfriend are avid outdoors people and spend much of their time hiking, camping, canoeing and cycling. They try to bike 100 miles a week in the warm season! These activities take them and their canine companions all over the state, from the Mississippi River Bluffs in the south to the end of the Gunflint Trail on the edge of the Boundary Waters.
