Auburn’s first experiences with caring for animals began at a young age as she was raised on a dairy farm in upper Wisconsin. She kept busy when she was young pet sitting for numerous friends, family, and members of the community. Her favorite breed of dog is the Jack Russell Terrier or the Irish Terrier because of their enormous personalities and silly behaviors. Also, she feels their cuteness cannot be matched, especially with that scruffy hair and those breeds! Auburn has many pets of her own now, two kitties and five guinea pigs. She loves to dress them up in costumes for various holidays and occasions! Auburn’s favorite part about working with animals is getting to interact and bond with all the different animals she meets.
Outside of work, Auburn is studying landscape design, greenhouse management, and professional gardening. She takes special interest in plant care and loves the diagnosing and treatment of sick and injured plants but she also is very passionate about residential landscape design. She also enjoys backpacking, skiing, and playing video games with her friends. Her favorite seasons are fall and winter for the snow and cooler weather. One of her favorite restaurants is The Smack Shack in the North Loop and always recommends mac and cheese! Her favorite TV show is Game of Thrones and named her cat Nymeria after one of the Stark's Direwolves. She listens to lots of different types of music but her favorites are soundtracks from movies and shows she watches and Deftones.
