WeekendDog Walker & Small Animal Pet Sitter

Hi I’m Kal! I have many years of experience working and living with animals of all kinds! I hold a degree in wildlife biology and have experience volunteering at animal shelters, the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of MN, and Como Park Zoo & Conservatory. I have work experience at Fusion Pet Retreat managing large groups of dogs and caring for boarded animals. I’ve worked with snakes, amphibians, and invertebrates while employed as a naturalist at the Bell Museum. My current clade includes a senior Catahoula leopard dog, a corn snake, and a leopard gecko.

When I’m not walking my own dog, I work in natural resource restoration and conservation. My passions lie in the outdoors and preserving the natural world for generations to come. My hobbies include hiking, birding, and reading.

My favorite part of working with animals is noticing the similarities and differences between species. I love learning the behavioral tendencies of the species as a whole, as well as the individual personalities. I don’t have a favorite breed of dog or cat, but I have a special place in my heart for long haired calico cats. My favorite season is fall, and I love getting up north for some beautiful fall hikes to see the changing leaves and my favorite restaurant is Namaste Cafe in Minneapolis.
