Come, Sit, Stay, a local dog walking and pet sitting company, seeks reliable, trustworthy, experienced dog walker & cat sitter in area of South Minneapolis. You must currently live in the Twin Cities and be able to start as soon as possible. The position ranges from 30-40 hours per week.

There is day to day variability in the hours but a busy day would be 10:00am to 6:00pm (with a meal break) and a slow day may be 11:00am to 2:30pm and 4pm to 6pm (break 2:30 to 4pm).
All team members will also work 4 weekends (8 days, on-call) and 2 holiday periods (6 days, implementing services) within a calendar year. The work hours on these 14 days will be between 8am and 8pm and will cover our full service area.

Education and Experience:

  • HS Diploma or GED

  • Driver's License

  • Previous or current ownership of a dog

  • Bonus if you have professional dog walking or dog daycare experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Walk a variety of dog breeds and sizes between the hours of 10 am to 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday and occasional weekends (4 per year - 8 days total) and holidays (2 per year - 6 days total) in all weather.

  • Visit and care for cats, rabbits, birds, and other domesticated pets.

  • Drive between client's residences utilizing personal vehicle.

  • Follow client and company specified instructions on pet care/walking routines.

  • Communicate with clients on a regular basis to relay service summaries and gather information on service needs.

  • Communicate with company management regarding updates to client or pet needs and schedule.

  • Maintain an organized schedule with frequent variations and track this schedule via computer and smart phone.

Qualifications and Skills

  • General knowledge of dog walking collars and harnesses

  • Ability to recognize animal body language

  • Experience administering oral, topical, and injected medicines a plus

  • Capability to love all animals

  • Patience, as you will be working with a variety of pet temperaments and a wide range of clients

  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills as you will be traveling between multiple client locations

  • Self motivated and comfortable working independently

  • Ability to address and solve stressful situations

  • Consistent access to a vehicle and ability to transport animals

  • Ownership of a smart phone with data plan and daily access to a computer/email/internet.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, restrain a large dog, and work outside in all weather conditions.
