Powerderhorn Dog Walker & Small Animal Pet Sitter

Grace has a lot of experience with animals! She’s fostered litters and single cats, taken in stray cats (some for an evening, some for a week!), and had her own cats and dogs growing up, as well as two gerbils, a guinea pig, and several kinds of fish as a kid. As an adult she’s lived with a snake, a turtle, more than a few dogs, and adopted a long-haired cat, Olympia, and a pit bull/husky mix, Fia. When asked what her favorite dog breed is she said, “I have always had a soft spot for pit bull mixes, and I tend to like oddballs, like my dog, Fia, who has very big, pointy ears!”

Her favorite part of working with animals is meeting new ones, especially unique mixed breed dogs! “I like to learn how each individual animal ticks, and about their behavior. I also like finding out how to make them love and trust me!

Outside of work Grace makes chainmaille jewelry and accessories, her very small business is called Lucent Chains. She said, “I like to experiment with other vary mediums, including collage, film photography, interior design, and learning new craft skills such as knitting, weaving, and sewing. I’m always open to learning new things! I also like seeing live local bands, rockhounding, spending time outdoors (hiking/camping), going to the dog park with Fia, and aquiring and tending to my large collection of house plants.”

Grace’s favorite season in Minnesota is summer, lots of activities to do outside! Anywhere else in the country she likes fall, no impending winter is comforting! Her favorite restaurants include Victor’s 1959 Cafe, Abi’s Cafe, and Pineda Tacos. Favorite music to listen to includes local rock and punk bands, and 70’s and 80’s punk/rock bands like Black Sabbath, Wire, Pylon and the Spits.
