Weekday Dog Walker & Small Animal Pet Sitter

Hi, my name is Natalie! I grew up my whole life with cats in the household, and then adopted my first puppy in August, 2023. Raising her from 3 months old was one of the most rewarding challenges in my life, and I learned a lot about training techniques, and the importance of play. Laney (my pup) is a mutt— I still don’t exactly know what her special blend of breeds is, and that makes her all the more special to me. I love working with (and just generally being around!) animals, because they all have such unique personalities, like us, and there’s nothing more rewarding than successfully sending the message, “I’m safe, I care about you” to an animal.

I genuinely love all of the seasons, and I’m super intentional about rotating my hobbies. As of writing this, it’s winter, so I spend a lot of time reading (so many books I’m working through), journaling, doing large jigsaw puzzles, and playing video games on my Nintendo Switch. During spring and summer, I ride my bike a ton, go swimming, catch a bonfire when I can, and just be outside as much as humanly possible. I’ve also been an illustrator all my life, but have lately felt a little uninspired to draw, and am currently seeking out other means of creation to scratch that itch. My favorite music genres include 90’s alternative rock, shoegaze, hardcore, r&b, soul, and jazz. I love listening to NTS radio online, or the local jazz station, or KMOJ.

One last animal-related fun fact about me: I lived in New Zealand from 2017-2021, during which time I befriended a giant boar that lived in a paddock across from a very small town inn. His name was Boris, but I called him Mr. Pig, and used to bring him apples and carrots whenever I knew I’d be driving through his town. His hair was like broom bristles, all black, and he had big tusks. He used to let me scratch behind his ears through the fencing. ❤️
