Dog Walker & Small Animal Pet Sitter

With a background in animal care, Kaylin brings an incredible amount of experience with her. Most recently, she spent two years at The Wildcat Sanctuary, where she oversaw the daily care of a wide range of exotic cat species, both big and small. Prior to that, she gained hands-on husbandry experience caring for rescued raptors during college and served as the caretaker of a lab mouse colony in a carcinogenic lab. Combined with a lifelong history of growing up with cats and dogs and frequently pet sitting for friends and neighbors, her connection to animals is both professional and deeply personal.

She grew up with Shih Tzus and still holds a soft spot for them, but over the years she has become a bit biased toward cats. Her current favorite breed is the Nebelung, which is the same breed as her cat, Harper. One of the most rewarding parts of working with animals for Kaylin is discovering each animal’s unique personality and earning their trust over time. Building bonds at an animal’s own pace has been one of the most meaningful and educational experiences of her life.

Outside of work, Kaylin continues to stay connected to animals by volunteering at The Wildcat Sanctuary whenever she can and helping out familiar furry friends. In her downtime, she enjoys practicing archery recreationally, watching movies and nature documentaries, and challenging herself with escape rooms and tabletop escape games. She is a true autumn enthusiast and loves everything from crisp weather and colorful foliage to pumpkin patches, corn mazes, apple cider, Halloween, and even her birthday.

She also has a wide-ranging taste in music, with playlists often featuring Linkin Park, EDM and techno, and Celtic or Irish music. One of her favorite local spots is the Tilted Tavern in Bloomington, an arcade bar with a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Having worked with an astonishing list of species, including lions, tigers, cougars, leopards, cheetahs, lynx, servals, bobcats, and many more, it is no surprise she developed a particular fondness for tigers. In fact, she proudly owns over 35 tiger-themed items and counting, with no signs of slowing down. As she puts it best, she really likes her cats!
